I'm a university-trained writing tutor with an MA in English Literature and 8+ years of professional writing experience, specializing in college application personal statements.

I have an English Master's degree and a JD from the University of Virginia, as well as English and Philosophy degrees from the University of Kentucky. I tutored at the university writing center at both universities, working with all kinds of academic writing, including personal essays for college and graduate school applications, as well as STEM, humanities, creative writing, and graduate theses.

In my tutoring sessions, I confer with the student to make sure I understand their goals for their own writing and their stage of composition. Then I lead the student through a period of focused and guided work on the project before closing with a recap and a plan for next steps and future sessions.
